We had a fantastic experience!! We both highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about delicious vegetarian cuisine.
We arranged to meet Rita for a 3 hour private session in her beautiful kitchen. We arrived at 10am and Rita had numerous containers of fruits, vegetables, sprouted beans and various herbs from her garden already prepped. She proceeded non-stop for 3 hours to prepare many dishes. We tasted many new and interesting foods.
She is very engaging, energetic, and knowledgeable. While she is making the dishes, she is telling you what the foods do for your health and all the ingredients in them (be prepared to take notes: bring a note pad!). We started with wheat grass juice (sweet), then vegetable juice with lemon, also great, next mango, apple, orange and mint fruit salad, then went on to a fresh avocado soup with tomato garnish, then raw and cooked lentils, the latter with cauliflower millet loaf followed by a delicious tofu/vegetable stir fry, then spinach stuffed avocados with cumin, cayenne and tahini. When I mentioned it tasted a bit like pesto, Rita proceeded to toss in parsley, basil and pignoli nuts and made pesto! There were a few other items like pressed salad, similar to coleslaw, and these really tasty flax seed and date crackers.
All in all, we thought it was a great experience.

It was indeed my good fortune to have been blessed with a long friendship with Rita Romano for the past 20 years. My late husband thrived until age 85 by eating the words of wisdom that she generously poured into his food. 12 Steps for Thriving Through Chaos
1. Deal with things straight away. Protect and store your assets so they don't become waste.
2. Omit the stuff that no longer has purpose in the flavor of your life.
3. Eliminate things that are beyond their shelf life. This takes constant evaluation, assessment and discernment.
4. Inventory what you have that's still viable and protect it. Use what needs to be used now; combine the more vulnerable pieces with stronger life-sustaining things. Be nourished by them; be thankful for the blessing that you have the stamina and creativity to keep going. Use this to set a pace for your life.
5. Trust your instincts. Sometimes the best step is into the void.
6. Ask for help.
7. Go, even though you don't know exactly where or why.
8. Cry. It makes room for love to come in.
9. Fearlessly experiment. Add a little of this and some of that. Constantly expand your repertoire.
10. Get out of your own way. Seek to understand others AND yourself. And when you don't, repeat step 5.
11. Believe that this too shall pass. Your only responsibility is to live, not in isolation, but in the connective tissue that is humanness.
